Back in December 2009, we open our NZ art and gift shop called The Sea Chest - a treasure trove of exclusive and exquisite gifts.
It features locally made arts and crafts by over 40 different artists from the Nelson and Marlborough regions. You'll find paintings, stone pendants, colourful orbs, pottery, ceramics and other handcrafted gifts by local artists.
The Sea Chest also carries a wide assortment of gifts for all occasions including fine china, crystal, clocks, lamps, nautical items, home and garden decor, alpaca wraps and mantas, silk scarves, handbags, hats, jewellery, as well as various fashion and wedding accessories. We will even try to buy in to match your special outfit if not already in stock.
Kiwiana allows tourists the chance to buy genuine NZ and locally made unique gifts.

We specialise in matching your accessories - bring your material or outfit in and we can order in hats, bags, fascinators, parasols and necklaces to match if we do not have them in stock to suit.
Already in store is a wide range of jewellery including pearls to suit the bride with trendy beads for the attendants and guests.
The Sea Chest stocks lovely wedding charms such as rolling pins, parasols and of course horseshoes. Garters, cake knives and ring cushions are also available or can be ordered in to suit.

We are also really pleased to have on sale Joy Cowleys children’s books plus books for teenagers by Marion Day, both local Sounds Artists.
Isolation Merino Babywear is a feature of our store. From beautiful heirloom shawls to cute little socks, there is something for every baby.
Super fine Merino wool garments are the best product that can be used next to a baby's skin.
Also there is a lovely range of possum/merino hats, gloves, scarves and socks by Cosy Kiwi to keep the older children warm and snug for winter.
The hats and scarves are very trendy and will keep that fashion conscious little girl happy! While the boys beanies will wear well for outdoor play.
We offer free gift wrapping and have lots of free parking available.
We also host jewellery and scarf evenings for groups with complimentary food and drinks. Attendees receive a gift voucher at the end of the night for 10% of the value of purchases. A fun evening out to learn what suits and how to tie scarves.
